Hagman Barbecue Launch

Last year in OctoberI left my job of 16.5 years due to my not being willing to relocate to Florida. While it was a great 16.5 years and I owe a lot to my previous employer I felt the time had come to move on and try something new. I want to be involved in my families life and they in mine which has not always been possible spending 4-5 days on the road nearly every week.

While I know my new endeavor will take a lot of time and energy I also know that I will be investing that time and energy back in to my own business. I also feel this will give me the opportunity to balance my time better with my young family.

Being a Chef for nearly 15 years has been my life's career, passion and the only trade I've ever pursued. Even at a young age I loved helping my Mom with dinner, grilling in the backyard with my Dad and seeing how food could always bring people together. I've also begun passing this passion down to my boys. Corbin now competes (and has won) at the local, state and national levels. Noah Bear and Kayroo now love to come in to the kitchen and help dad out. There is nothing that brings people together like food can. Melissa often tells me that she doesn't want me to have to "work" when everyone comes over and my response is always......you'll never understand the joy and excitement I feel being able to do what I love, how it brings us all together and the way it makes me feel watching ya'll enjoy what I've created for you. Its truly a sense of gratification only another Chef could understand.

Most anyone who knows me knows that I have a passion and obsession with barbecue. I've been studying the craft for the last several years while traveling throughout the country. I've visited some of the finest Joints in the country trying to soak up and learn from the best. While I know I have a lot to learn, as is continually the case for any Chef, I feel like the time has come to share my passion with more people. This is real deal barbecue that will pay homage to a number of different styles.....Texas Beef, Carolina Pork, Alabama Chicken, Memphis Ribs and more offered with some amazing sides like pork belly mac & cheese. I'm making my own handmade sausages and using the best products available like prime grade cuts of brisket.

I plan to offer all of this off of a custom built food trailer that I'll be bringing in from Georgia. The reason for the gofundme is to help with equipment costs on the trailer and startup costs of my own commissary kitchen to operate out of. This is a tough business to succeed in but I know with my passion for this business and the support of family and friends I will be able to bring something to this town that people really want. Thank you in advance for your support.
