Field Trip for 6th Grade

I am trying to raise money to send the 6th grade class at my school, Hagginwood Elementary, to Alliance Redwoods on a once in a lifetime field trip!
For those of you who do not know, I work in a very economically depressed area of Sacramento. An overwhelming number of students in this community are homeless, on free/reduced lunch, etc. The families in this here simply cannot afford to send their VERY deserving students on this trip.
If you would please consider donating to our cause - it would mean the world to me. I am very blessed to teach these students and I know how appreciative they would be. For most of the students at Hagginwood, going to a place like Alliance Redwoods is literally a once in a lifetime thing.
Students at Hagginwood Elementary rarely get to experience much outside their immediate community/surroundings. The chance to attend Alliance Redwoods’ outdoor education program is truly a unique opportunity for them.
During their stay at Alliance Redwoods, students will take CA State Standard aligned outdoor education classes such as Forest Ecology, Animal Ecosystems, Herpetology, Geology & Stream, as well as a multitude of others. They will also engage in team building activities and challenge courses such as Wall Climbing, Zip Lines, Giant Swings, Vertical Playpen, Leaps and Group Trust Activities. These activities focus on cooperation, communication, overcoming fear, support of classmates, character building, and team-building. Being removed from their normal environment forces students to rely on each other, communicate, build self-esteem and establish healthy, long-lasting relationships with their peers.
Students who have attended in the past will often say that their 6th grade trip to Alliance Redwoods was the single most memorable part of their elementary education. Students will pair with naturalists at Alliance Redwoods, all of who are college graduates with extensive outdoor science and environmental education experiences.
Students will return from Alliance Redwoods with a stronger sense of community, healthier peer relationships, higher self-esteem and the memory of a unique educational experience that will last them a lifetime.
Here is a breakdown of the costs:
1 TRUSD Bus to/from Alliance Redwoods $755
50 Student Admissions ($156 per student) to Alliance Redwoods $7,800
