HAAL Wants To Record A New Album

We are HAAL, four friends who love making the kind of music we grew up listening to. As adults, we’re done trying to be cool & only care about creating songs we love that we can share with people who genuinely enjoy them. What matters to us most is that we have fun. We recorded, produced, & funded our first, self titled album entirely by ourselves.
Completed at our studio, Fahrenheit, we had an amazing time full of late night movies & inside jokes we repeat even to this very day. We were lucky to involve Chris Common to mix & master those seven songs, but his services, pressing it on vinyl, & making it available on streaming sites was all done out of our own pockets & with money we scraped together playing shows or selling shirts.
For our second album, we want to do things a little different. We’ve found an amazing recording environment in Asheville, NC called Sound Temple Studio. Cool name, right? We hope to track the drums there. Everything else will still be done on our own at Fahrenheit, in Johnson City, TN. We’re also extremely grateful to have the amazing Kurt Ballou interested in mixing the songs we’ve written for this record. His guidance & encouragement have given us the courage to push ourselves to another level.
The four of us have always been do it ourselves kind of people, which is why we struggled in our hearts to ask for your help. But the opportunity to make this next release sound amazing was the nudge we needed to come to you, our friends, family, & hopefully, fans. The studio time for the drums will be $1000; Mixing sessions will be around $2500. So that is what we are asking for. The rest we will pay for ourselves, including any commissioned artwork, vinyl, & CD pressings.
Which brings us to our other bit of news. We will be pressing this album AND OUR FIRST ALBUM on CD. Anyone who donates more than $10 will get a copy of the new album on CD. And if you donate more than $18, you will also get a copy of our first album on CD. These will go out as soon as we get them, so you’ll be the first to get a copy & the first to hear our new songs recorded. A vinyl pressing will likely follow, but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves.
Like we said, we mostly care about having fun & making these songs sound the best they can. So that’s it. We’re putting our egos aside & asking for any help you can offer us. ALL donations are appreciated, in ANY amount. We’ve set the two rewarded amounts only to help us generate enough money to follow through on our promises.
