Jason's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
A few days before Christmas, we got a call that Jason was air lifted to a trauma hospital in Boston who could meet his emergent needs. We had been informed that Jason had been in a severe car accident as a passenger that resulted in cardiac arrest on scene but first responders were able to resuscitate him on the way to the hospital.

He fought hard and after days of not being able to breathe on his own, both lungs collapsed, traumatic brain injury, all ribs broken on both sides, a broken arm, fractured bones in two areas of his neck, fractured shoulder blades, and of course his spinal cord injury as well as a lot of other issues, he won the ability to live but he lost the ability to walk again.

His spinal cord was severed at the T11 which means Jason would not be able to control his lower body again. Unfortunately, when your spinal cord is severed, nothing can fix that. You cannot fuse the spinal cord back together in hopes to regain feeling and rehab cannot present you with the ability to recover from such a traumatic injury.

Because of the first responders on scene, the amazing team of nurses and doctors at Boston Medical Center that have not left Jason’s side, the love, prayers, and support from friends and family, Jason will be able to spend time with his family again outside of the hospital and rehab facilities one day.

As you can only imagine, the road to recovery will be an extremely long one but also an extremely expensive one which is where hopefully you can help. Being in a hospital is expensive in itself but the months of rehab facilities, making his home handicap accessible, finding the right wheelchair, and receiving no money from the accident due to the driver having very little insurance are only going to increase the financial burden. Unfortunately, Jason's insurance will only cover up to a certain amount of days in rehab before the cost comes out of pocket. On top of that, regular doctor visits and in home care will have to be paid for as well.

Jason, being born at under 3 pounds, has always been a fighter. Without a doubt, he will fight through this but he needs your help. All donations are appreciated to help Jason get back his strength and to get him to the most normal life that he can have. Jason has a long road ahead of him but he will get there thanks to the help of all of you.

Let’s help Jason fight this fight. Thank you sincerely from Jason, Dannielle and Joey (his parents), and his family. We appreciate all the donations, the love, and most importantly, the support as we get Jason through such a tough time in his life.
