This is Parker Dejong. He is 9 months old and the youngest of three boys. He is a bright and happy baby who loves to smile and give hugs.
Parker's mother took him into the local hospital for a possible respiratory infection on March 20th where the doctor did a chest xray at her insistance. The xray showed a concerning mass and they were immediately sent to CHEO. Within days their whole world changed...
Parker has been diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous tumour, he has posterior mediastinal neuroblastoma.
He will undergo chemo at the very least, with the hope of shrinking the tumour enough so it can be removed. There are so many unknows with regards to treatment and how long he will be fighting, but it will be a long road for the whole family.
Parker's parents should have only one concern, Parker. But the reality of commuting to Ottawa and lost wages weighs heavy on them as well.
