Hello everyone!
My name is Nicole Tounzen. The handsome man in the picture with me is my incredible husband, Corey Tounzen. We have been married for nine years, and
these years together have taught us exactly what marriage is all about. We are both 28 years old, and we currently do not have children of our own...yet. We want to have a family of our own so badly, and we know that this will come in perfect timing. You may be wondering why we made an account with gofundme? That's an excellent question; allow me to share our answer with you.
As I mentioned earlier, nine years of marriage has taught us a lot about love and perseverance. We have walked together through the fire, and we have not been burned. Over half of our marriage, I have been more like a child than a wife to my husband. For over seven years I have been very sick. Within the last four years, my health was getting worse and worse. I would go to ER after ER, hospital after hospital. Nothing was found. I was told that my symptoms were brought on by stress, and that it was all in my head. However, I knew my body, and I could tell that something was just not right. I was having so many different kinds of symptoms. The doctors I had visited thought that it could have been seizures, stroke, MS, among other things. At times I have trouble walking and talking. It is like I'm a prisoner in my own body. I know exactly what's going on, but I have no control of my body at all. I would have severe reactions to loud noises, fragrances and chemicals. I would have to wear a medical mask and ear plugs. Thank God that we got the answers we needed!
In May of 2013, I was finally diagnosed with, Lyme disease. I was started on antibiotics immediately. I am happy to say that there has been a lot of progress in my health as of late. I am still taking treatments, but excited with results.
Through this journey, I have tried to complete my degree in Health and Sciences, emphasis on Nutrition and Dietetics. Unfortunately, due to health issues, I have had to start and stop several times. Needless to say, the expenses began to pile up on us.
The title of my campaign, My Journey of Victory, is true. I know that with God on my side. With Corey and my family and friends on my side, anything is possible.
I will complete my degree in Nutrition and be a Dietitian. I will beat this disease and then....We will have a family of our own.
