Zach's Medical Fund

The disease my coworker, and friend, Zach has been fighting for the past 13 years is called IGA nephropathy. 
Just last December he was instructed to start dialysis by his nephrologist. Two types of dialysis exist and he chose to try PD ( peritoneal dialysis) although after having  the surgery to get the PD catheter installed he found out he had an inguinal hernia which had to be repaired. After the hernia was repaired  the catheter tip was adjusted the dialysis was still did not work. In February 2017  he started to feel the effects of not dialyzing, so he made the choice to start hemodialysis. He started hemodialysis  3x per week at 4 hours per visit. Now, it is November and he has been dialyzing for almost 1 year when he got the good news of a transplant opportunity through his mother.  All the tests line up after months of coordination. While aligning all his insurances for the post transplant necessities. His Medicare premium is $140/month. Medigap insurance is $330 and Medicare part D prescription plan costing $160/month not including the cost of medications things are going to be tight as he will not be able to work for approximately 6 weeks.
