Cameron Washington a 16 year old sophomore at Marion High School, son of Teri Velarde, has been diagnosed with alveolar sarcoma. It is a very rare form of cancer. It arises mainly in children and young adults. ASPS can migrate (metastasize) into other parts of the body. The cancer began in his leg in the form of a knot. It has spread to various parts of his body, specifically his lungs and his brain. He is beginning chemotherapy as well as radiation treatments immediately, with surgery following in about 10 weeks. He will continue chemo and radiation after the surgery. Cameron will be undergoing treatments at Riley, at least once a week for at least the next 26 weeks. Between treatments, hotel rooms, food, and medical bills, expenses will be adding up quickly. We want to fight this and get Cam the best treatment, we are asking for donations to help this amazing young man and his family! Cameron has such an amazing support system and we thank you all for your tremendous amount of support and love! #TEAMCAMERON #CAMSTRONG #CAMISGOINGTOBEATTHIS
