Love & Support for the Baker Family!

Family friends of the Baker Family have created this fundraiser. As many of you know, Eliza is critically ill and was first hospitalized at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital on August 5th with health challenges related to her liver, lungs & neurological state. On August 16th, she was transferred by a medical helicopter to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital & put on a ventilator, where she currently remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit. On September 2nd, she had a tracheotomy to help assist her with her breathing & reestablish the airway. Right now her medical status is stable, but she continues to face different challenges & complications almost daily. She has a very long road ahead of her, but she continues to fight & get the proper care & assistance she needs at this time.

We would like to do as much as we can to support Tim, Jackson, Barrett and Crawford during this very difficult time. As you can imagine, going through this kind of event creates stress on many levels, with the financial burden being only one. This particular concern will continue to grow. There has been a tremendous amount of medical care necessary that is not covered by their insurance, in addition to ancillary costs which arise during a time like this (loss of work, parking fees for hospital stays, away from home food expenses, extra care so the family can be at the hospital or support each other.) We would also like to facilitate a routine that remains as close to normal as possible for the boys. The goal of this fundraiser is to help lessen the heavy burden that comes from financial strain so that the family may focus on Eliza’s health and healing.

If you feel inclined, we invite you to thoughtfully consider how you might support this family in need. First and foremost, we believe in the power of prayer, so please continue to pray for Eliza, Tim, Jackson, Barrett, Crawford and the extended family and friends being impacted during this time. Second, we are raising funds to help relieve the financial burden as things continue to unfold. There are so many unknowns right now.
