Richard's medical expenses

Donation protected
Two days ago my brother, and best friend in the world, was diagnosed with cancer. As a truck driver, this means he has essentially lost his income for probably the next 6 months. This also means he will soon be without insurance during this fight.
Richard is my "constant." For those of you who don't know what I mean by that, we were raised as Army "brats" and change was the norm. During all of those years, my brother is the one thing (besides our parents) that was constant. He'll be embarrassed if he reads this, but Richard is one of the most important people to me on this earth, and I would go beyond doing everything I CAN to help him.
The holidays are fast approaching, and instead of wondering about what size turkey to get, and which day to get the best sales on Christmas gifts, we are working out schedules for chemo treatments and wondering how to get him through the next 6 months without worrying himself over what to do with the medical bills. Just the testing alone to get to this diagnosis was well into 4 figures.  He will probably have a couple of surgeries (one being a port-placement so he doesn't have to have an IV started on him weekly for the next 3-4 months) before the chemotherapy can even begin.
His spirits are up, and in typical Richard fashion, he's made some pretty witty jokes about all of this. He isn't letting it get him down. We Gunders are strange animals, if we can laugh at it, WE WILL.
He has an AMAZING oncologist at Highland Oncology Group (H.O.G.) and I am thrilled and relieved that she is taking care of him, but the reality of this is... this journey is going to be unbelievably expensive. We are getting lots of wonderful advise about different services available, and he's applying for everything he can, but the immediate need is here. His income has stopped, and the bills have started.
Please find a few extra dollars you can share, and PLEASE let everyone you know see this page. I cannot even begin to tell you how much he appreciates everyone's prayers and well wishes.

If I may echo the words of our Aunt Cheryl, "I HATE CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Thank you, everyone!!

Love,
Crystal
