Please help us raise enough to make this a fully registered Charity xx

Phoebe Poppy Kingham-Chapman is my little Angel who passed away at 6 weeks old on the 21st December 2009. When Phoebe was born on the 8th November 2009 i thought my world was complete. Phoebe came to us 40 weeks to the day at 4.05am on Remembrance Sunday hence her middle name Poppy. We lost our beautiful daughter to SIDS and the hours and days after we're devastating.

I created a Support group called Precious Losses through SIDS while recovering from a breakdown. I wanted to be able to talk with other parents who had suffered a similar loss, as there appeared to be little support for bereaved parents in our area. From that group I decided I needed to do more. And that was to make some memory boxes that we could donate to our Local hospital to be given to other bereaved parents who may need some support at such a horrific time of their lives.

We were given a box by the hospital when our daughter passed that contained very little to help us through the immediate hours and days after Phoebe passed away but it gave me the idea that I could help more. Nothing can really help at the time but on reflection I thought I could provide something that may offer a bit more that bereaved parents could use, simple things like a packet of face wipes, an ink less wipe kit so nurses or parents have the opportunity to take handprints or footprints. We also include a handmade knitted blanket with hat and gloves, 2 identical small teddies, a balloon. An Apache Tear, a handmade book and many other little bits. Everything we include is something that on reflection we would have found a little comfort from. The blankets we include are hand knitted by volunteers and specially donated to us.
Nothing ever takes away the pain and we aren't looking to make big gestures. We would just like other parents to know they are never ever alone by providing something comforting to them. They may not look in it that day, or the next, but one day it may help a little and hopefully help knowing that others whom have been in the same place have been thinking of them and that they are not alone. And also that we may have provided them with a few small items that we  ourselves would have looked back on and appreciated.

There is also a group where the ideas are shared for the contents of the boxes and where I post what has been bought with the donations.. :) which is www.facebook.com/groups/PhoebesPoppyBoxes/
Please stop by for a look and feel free to message me with any thoughts.
