This gofundme project was started to help my Mom, Lucia (Sheila), offset medical expenses for a surgery that is scheduled for January 4th, 2017.
This year has been a year of unimaginable grief for her. First, she lost my grandmother in February. Then, in September, she took a trip to Fort Lauderdale Beach with a friend and her boyfriend for the weekend. Shortly after arriving, her boyfriend went into cardiac arrest and passed away in the hotel. In an effort to perform CPR she moved him from the bed to the floor. In doing so, she completely tore the ligaments in her arm from the rotator cuff. She said she didn't realize the extent of the injury because her adrenaline was rushing, but her doctor recently informed her that surgery would be necessary. Since the surgery is scheduled for the beginning of the New Year she hasn't met her deductible yet and is left having to come up with a large sum of money in a short amount of time.
My brothers, sister and myself love our mom and will help her in every way that we can in the very short amount of time that we have to come up with this large sum of money. We were hoping that anyone who knows and loves my mom could come along side us to help her carry the burden as well. Time is of the essence as we have to have the money by the morning of the surgery.
