Thank you for considering donating to our football team.
Our 10U tackle football team, Palmetto Raiders, is based out of Perrine in Miami,FL. We are a team that is full of players that not only overcome adversity on the field, but in life. We are not a team of financial privilege, yet, we are a team with an average GPA of 2.7. We are not a team of size, but we are a team of heart. We are not a team of talent brought in from all areas to stack ourselves, we are a local team of talent. We are not a team of fathers coaching sons, we are a team of high-school coaches taking in boys who are coachable and coaching them up.
We have overcome being the underdogs. We have overcome our last year's end-of-season loss. We constantly overcome daily personal struggles. We have fought week-after-week for our wins and worked to beat our biggest loss of the season in our final game, our Greater Miami Pop Warner Super Bowl. Since then, we have continued to work our way up the ladder to Pop Warner Nationals, and MOMMA, WE MADE IT!
Football may be a sport of barbarian nature to many people. To these boys, this sport provides them an after-school commitment. It provides them positive peers with similar goals. It provides them good health. It provides them mentors in coaches. It provides them confidence. It provides them the path towards a paid college education. Most of all, it provides them with brotherhood.
Unfortunately, along with this accomplishment, comes great financial burden. This will be a week-long battle for the title. Our championship game is to be televised nationally on ESPNU. The boys do have to stay in Orlando, eat 3 meals, play 3 games and attend study hall. Any financial contributions will be greatly appreciated and helpful towards providing for these boys a week of dreams that they were never expected to see but earned 1 snap at a time.
