Hi,
I’m Koby and I’m a 19 year old trans man, raising money for my transition.
I’m going to transition privately due to the inhumane wait times for nhs gender services, but the decision to not transition with the nhs is not for lack of trying as i’ve been on their waiting lists for 4 years without an appointment or mention of when one would be available to me.
Private hormonal transition includes a consultation to get a diagnosis of gender incongruence (which happened in December) and an endocrine appointment with a private endocrinologist. Although these appointments will occur over zoom they still cost £300 each.
The cost for the top surgery starts at around £6500 but it can be raised based on how long I’m in theatre for and I will also need accommodation after I get the surgery.
My goal for booking my top surgery with Dr Miles Berry is £8,000 and so far I’ve saved £5,700
