My name is Sean Quartermaine, and I am a long-term Sales and Marketing Manager within the new home building industry in Western Australia.

I am concerned that more and more mothers are being forced to sleep on the streets or in cars, which is often their only possession. Domestic violence is the number one reason for a woman to become homeless.

The rental crisis is out of control in every state of Australia, and women, especially those with children, are the most vulnerable. The problem will only worsen as Australia opens its borders to increased immigration levels. More people do not fit into less affordable housing. It's as simple as that.

Mums end up being homeless due to many reasons. Loss of employment, domestic abuse, mental illness, divorce, separation etc.

It's a complex issue, and I don't have the answers, but I need to start somewhere. Today I began Cover4mother to raise a donation for the Zonta House Refuge Association. https://zontahouse.org.au/

Zonta House Refuge Association is a specialist service that provides safety, essential relief and support to women who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV). Their focus is to deliver high quality, innovative services to prevent and reduce family and domestic violence, providing intervention opportunities and support services to assist in the recovery of women and children who have experienced FDV

As this is my first use of a gofundme page, I have just been made aware that I cannot donate to my fundraising campaign!

Therefore I have donated $10,000.00 directly to the Zonta House charity.

The reviewed target is $100,000.00. I wanted to fundraise for each state and territory, but first up, that might be a mountain too high to climb, so let's start at home in Western Australia.

Mums with children in their custody or mums who no longer have their kids in their daily charge are left behind.

Today it is someone else, and tomorrow it could be your mum, sister, aunt, best friend or maybe even you!
