A Kidney for Kaydon

The Barger family has faced many hardships since the premature birth of little Kaydon Matthew Barger. Missie (mommy) had to close her home daycare to care for Kaydon who had weak immunity. Kaydon, who has become known as Special K, came down with Pneumoccocal Meningitis/ Septicemia at 6 months old. He acquired severe brain damage and lost his kidney function along with many other health issues. Kaydon has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Right Ear Deafness, Hypertension, Anemia, Epilepsy, Ventriculomegally, End Stage Renal Disease (on peritoneal dialysis), Dismotilily (GTube fed), Hypogammaglobulinemia and many other issues. As you can imagine, life with a chronically ill child has placed a Huge financial burden on our family! Kaydon has 3 siblings... Fallon, a junior in high school who is a cheerleader and member of the National Honor Society. Cameron, an 8th grader who is an avid runner and enjoys Ice Hockey. And Ashton, a 5th grader who is Sensitive and has health issues of his own, including Gluten intolerance, Thyroid issues and is currently being referred to Neurology at UVA for a lesion on his brain stem (pons). Kaydon's daddy, Matthew, works hard each day and was just officially approved to be Kaydon's living Kidney donor. Since we receive state health care, we are limited as to the amount of income Matt can earn without the children losing their health coverage. Matt would gladly take on a second and/or third job to support the family if this were not the case. Sadly, it's a no win situation. With upcoming Transplant, Matt will have to be out of work for nearly a month. That being said, we need to raise funds to pay our bills during this time and to catch up on bills already behind because of repeated trips and hospitalizations for Kaydon's health care. The Lord has laid this burden on our hearts to reach out for help during the next few months. If you are able to help, any small amount will greatly help.
