Hi, as all of you that know me know that I am private man and I love to laugh and poke fun at life and move though life having fun with friends and family always helping when I can. Well my turn came this Febuary when I was diagnosed with Oropharyngeal Squamish Cell Carcinoma HPV Positive.  I came back from working in Maui to get treated here in Califorina. Treatment was 8 weeks of Chemotherapy and radiation at the same time. Needless to say either one of these treatments is hard on a person but both at the same time  present a level of pain that I could never have been prepared for.  But,  it was just a new challenge to me as I moved thru the pain as all of this took a huge toll on me. After treatment there was a  8 to 10 week healing time with a whole new set of pain care and I was doing very well until the 9th week or so when the doctors discovered a radiation wound on the floor of my mouth and they set me up for a wound care plan to heal the hole in my mouth that has a nerve exposed in the middle of the hole. I thought I had planned well for emergencies that come along in life, when I took the new job on Maui I signed up for long term disablity insurance just in case God forbid something happened to me like an auto accident  or something. Well the unbelievable happend with the Cancer Diagnosis. This all started in February. I completed treatment on June 1st and then in August we found the wound. My Hawaii state disbility ran out on August 26th but I was not worried because I had long-term Insurance. Then on Novermber 1st the long-term insurance company declined my claim saying it's a pre-existing condition caused by a sinus infection I had in April 2013. I am appealing the decision but that process takes a minimum of 60 days and I have been told it normaly takes more than one appeal. This news created my news challenge - my savings will be gone in the next few weeks. My wife, Ruth has been only working a very limited schedule so that she can care for me. So here I am in November and going in for another surgery to clean the wound and being told that this is going to be another 6 to 10 weeks before I will be able to return to work. I have no idea how we will pay our bills, buy grocerys etc. I was approached by two friends and after a long discussion with Ruth we decided to do this because we really do need prayers and help.
