Saving My Best Friend Kim Gibby

Donation protected
Hi, My name is Sandy Lewis, I am starting this campaign for one of my dearest friends, Kim Gibby who has cancer. I want to start by saying thank you for taking your time to read this. That would be what my friend Kim would want me to do. She is always considering others before herself. That is just who she is. In all the years that she has fought this battle with cancer she has never asked for help. Being a single mother of 3 she has been forced to continue to work full time even at her weakest moments. It is time for someone else to step in and tell her story and ask for help.

Here is her story......

The year 2006 was just the beginning of an exhausting and painful journey that my friend Kim would have to endure. That was the year she was diagnosed with breast cancer, but that is just where it started. Kim went through the proceedures like most breast cancer sufferers, having the mastectomy, chemo, radiation, and reconstructive surgeries. She was strong! She suffered but she never complained. She eventually would go into remission for close to 5 years but , those years did not come and go easy. In the time Kim was in remission she had to endure 22 surgeries. YES! I said 22! Most were reconstructive , but others were from pre-cancer  being found on her cervix causing her to have a full hysterectomy.  I wish I could say  that was the calm before the storm but unfortunately there was nothing calm about her remission time.

In 2010 Kim's world was turned upside down again with the diagnosis of bone cancer. It started with a broken crushed vertebrae that quickly progressed over time to broken bones in her sholders, ribs, clavicles, diaphragm, tailbone and hips. The bone cancer also caused her to form dents in her skull, the loss of a jawbone hinge, a hole in her femur bone and has caused her to lose 3 inches in height. Through all this, even through the pain and exhaustion and all the treatments of chemo and radiation Kim still pushed herself to keep working a full time job and provide for her family.

Today Kim still suffers and is battling stage 4 bone cancer but her newest diagnosis is what brings me to you now. Kim recently spent 5 days in the hospital due to dehydration and other symptoms. It was in this time that an MRI was performed and cancer was found on her brain. After a total body scan cancer was also found on her lungs and liver.  Due to the cancer on her brain her doctor was forced to take away her drivers liscence which will prevent her from working.

Through all the pain, exhaustion, chemo, radiation, hospital and doctors visits Kim has never given up! She never  said once, Why me! She never let it take her wonderful spirit! She is such an inspiration to so many! Please help this beautiful, loving, caring and precious woman begin to have some peace in her life.  All money donated will help pay the mountain of medical bills that insurance wont cover. Any amount that you can donate will  help Kim and her children.   We cant change Kim's medical condition but we can provide her with some financial relief. Even if you can only donate very little, every little bit helps!

Thank you again for taking the time to read this and know that you can make a difference! If you can't donate you can still help by sharing  Kim's Gofundme campaign on your social media outlets.

Thank you  and God Bless!
sincerely,
Sandy Lewis
