Hello, my names Lucy and I have spent the Last 4 years dedicating my life to save pts case dogs and dogs in desperate need of safety.
In September 2022 I made the journey to westgate to save a dog that needed help, precious the well known dog that was left in a garden outside with members of the public attending via the fence to feed her was rehomed to a young girl who couldn’t keep her any longer and without urgent rescue spaces available or anywhere for her to go precious was deemed to go for euthanasia, I drove to westgate to collect precious and to save her life.
She was known to ramsgate, st Lawrence.
Upon coming home it was clear precious needed neutering and when she was booked in under anaesthetic they found cancerous tumours on her breast that at the point of surgery were removed as well as doing her spay.
Precious has been a wonderful dog, she lives with children, cats and my other dogs wonderfully.
May 2025, precious became unwell, she gained two lumps one on her head and one on her side that were apparent to needing a vet check, she was taken in on 14th may 2025 when she fell extremely unwell and out of character, she wouldn’t lie down wouldn’t walk out to the toilet , she was very stressed her temperature was 40.1 which is considered life threatening, the vets checked her over, gave her antibiotics, a intravenous pain injection and sent her home with pain relief, the lumps the vets think could be cysts however due to the nature and the vets experience she believes them to be tumours that need to be removed and sent of for screening, I’ve done everything I can for this dog and this has come at such a shock and a time of a money struggle that I am desperate to find help funding her surgery so that precious at 6 years can live a couple more years knowing love and care, but right now she is suffering and if prolonged the suffering will get worse.
The vets have quoted £550 for the removal of the tumour looking lumps, and screening will be £150 to determine potential active cancer.
Myself and my son would be absolutely eternally grateful if we could find funding to keep precious happy and well.
