Carol’s Recovery Fund

My beautiful, kind, strong Aunt Carol was taken to the hospital yesterday morning after she’d been incoherent. She was later admitted into the hospital after it was discovered that a blood clot had caused her to suffer a series of strokes that have mostly affected the left side of her brain. She was diagnosed with having suffered a left middle cerebral artery stroke.
The effects of a Left Middle Cerebral Artery Stroke can leave lasting damage to her right side and can cause changes in:
• Movement and sensation
• Attention, memory, and judgement
• Perception
• Speech
• Vision
Right now, my  aunt can answer yes or no questions but cannot form sentences. She is struggling to learn to walk again.
Despite all of this, our family was gifted with a smile from her and it was glorious. It was nice to see a little bit of her old self and it was a fine example of just how strong of a woman she is.
For any of you that know my aunt, you know that she’s a certified medical assistant and works diligently to help everyone in need both in and outside of work. She’s a member of the church as well as a supportive wife to her husband, a decorated sergeant in the military. Aunt Carol has three children, two of them who are young and still live at home, Chasen 24, Conner 13, and Caitlyn 12. She also is a mom to three dogs and several cats that she has fostered over the years.
She will not be able to go to work and she will be unable to help support her family in the upcoming months as she will have to undergo rehab to aid in her recovery. She’s such an incredible person and we’re all feeling pretty useless, unable to help someone very dear to us. We’d love to be able to help her at least get through this part of her road to recovery. The amount of medical bills on top of their regular bills are going to be astronomical. Please, if you can afford even a few dollars, can you please help our family? Every dollar is going to be so useful and appreciated.
