February 5th, 2016 marks the day that Brandie & her family's life was changed forever. A simple stomach bug that had lasted 3 days eventually sent her into the ER where Dr. Silkey found a large tumor in her colon that had grown from one side of the colon wall and out the other. Stage 3c. After surgery, 6 months of FULFOX chemo, genetic testing, being diagnosed with FAP, colon resection at UW w/ Dr. Foley & a few surgeries later, her oncologist at Thedacare in Wisconsin announced to her that she was "cured."

Brandie & her family attempted to regain their normal life they had before cancer hit them however, less than 6 months from being told she was "cured" the cancer came back almost the size of a basketball in her ovary. Brandie was then diagnosed as stage lV terminal cancer. After a radical hysterectomy in March 2017 to remove the tumor and all other disposable organs, a PET scan revealed a MIRACLE of no further evidence of disease. Brandie and her husband made the choice to move home (from Wisconsin back to Florida) to be closer with her family. Brandie began receiving care at Shands where she elected not to use chemo until 'active' cancer returned.
Feb 2018 during a sigmoidoscopy, cancer was found in her lower small intestines. During surgery, the surgeon was unable to complete the surgery due to the amount of cancer discovered once she had been opened. Brandie was then diagnosed with Stage lV colon cancer with metatastic peratineal cancer - which is not curable. In April of 2019, a surgery was done by Dr.. Bagaria at Mayo Clinic to try and reduce the amount of tumors however when they opened her,, there was no tumors there anymore.. A MIRACLE FROM GOD! Brandie was NED for a few months before the cancer returned  in her peratneal.
After participating in a failed clinical trial at the end of 2020, the cancer spread to her liver and lungs. Currently, the chemotherapy is not working as well as it has in the past. Brandie was hospitalized in March of 2021 at SGMC where she was treated for severe pain management and a swollen spleen. It was also discovered during this hospitalization that she had ascites and before she was discharged, 4 liters of fluid was drained from her abdomin which had been causing the severe and uncontrollable pain.

Brandie & her family which include her sister, cousin, mother have done their research to find all other options to prolong Brandie's time here with us on earth as she has 3 beautiful children, Jenna 15, Millie 12 and CJ 7 that she 'needs' to be here for however she has now reached the end stage and her doctor has been trying to recycle chemotherapy drugs that once worked well. The side effects have been very brutal on her body as it continues to break down her skin ans nerves.

Brandie continues to travel to recieve care at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.  Her treatment that she is currently recieveing requires some overnight stays and multiple trips to Jacksonville a month. Brandie has made the decision to retire from her work that she has tried to continue throughout this journey to support her little family as she is a PROUD single mama. Anything helps and is truely a blessing.
Brandie has strived to make good use of her time since diagnosed however she now wishes to just use what time she has left on earth to spread with her babies. Colon cancer is the 2nd deadliest cancer but the most easiest to prevent if caught in early stage.

Please pray and if you can donate to help with the family's financial burden .
