Happy Holidays Everyone

First and foremost Rumbamena would like to wish everyone a happy, safe, and healthy holiday and new year.

As we know 2020 has been a very difficult year, covid-19 completely changed our way of life and how we go about it.

Small business owners have been especially hit the hardest with many, small businesses having to close up shop.  As a small business owner of Rumbamena, I was able to stay afloat as long as I did, with ingenuity and a bit of luck, but luck can only take you so far.

My name is Ximena Salgado, I am a professional dancer, dance teacher, actress, and choreographer. I immigrated here from Peru five years ago, to pursue a fulfilling career in the arts based in New York City.

Rumbamena LLC is a company I formed to celebrate, educate, and honor the Latin dance culture, with its ultimate goal to connect different artistic dance styles, break stereotypes, and make a truly diverse inclusive company.
As I said, I am an immigrant and due to my status, I was denied every government covid-19 relief support. Also, to add fuel to the fire, the former company partner decided to leave and file the company for dissolution, which forced me to take matters into my own hands, by restructuring the company.

With New York city being mostly shut down due to the pandemic for most of this year, this has been a detrimental blow to Rumbamena. Every day has been a struggle just to stay open.
As a patron of the arts and a local small business owner, I am turning to you my community in hopes that you can aid with the shortfalls Rumbamena has endured during this pandemic and help Rumbamena make it into 2021.

All proceeds will go to the debt that Rumbamena has incurred this year, help with studio rentals since during the winter months we cannot rehearse outside any longer, train new dancers, dance costumes, materials, and provide some financial relief to our dancers because without them Rumbamena would cease to function.
They have stuck with the company throughout this whole pandemic, even when the pay was not what they are used to.
Their love for the company, professionalism, and loyalty has also been my driving force to make sure I do everything in my power to not only maintain this company and usher it into the new year but for many other years to follow.
