Chinchilla Amputation Surgery

Donation protected
My chinchilla, Mochi, needs surgery and we could use some help!

She developed a large mass on her leg a couple weeks ago. I thought it was just an injury but took her in to get it checked nonetheless. Two aspiration biopsies, an  x-ray, 1 round of meds, two vets, and a pathologist later and everyone is stumped. Right now they are leaning towards a tumor and most likely a cancerous one, which is very rare in chinchillas (they are being studied in terms of cancer research for their extremely low cancer rates). The vet has recommended another biopsy, a sample this time, which will require anesthesia and surgery. Unfortunately this can be dangerous for chinchillas. She is my first pet that is mine, my first chinchilla (I have three) and my baby girl. She is just under 3 years old. I am currently in school to earn my masters and teaching credential and working as a sub every day that I can. My parents are helping out, but at this point she made her leg amputated. We are unsure how she will do with the first surgery and if an amputation is needed. Any amount would be greatly appreciated and all of it will be going to her medical needs. Anything that remains will be donated to a chinchilla charity foundation/organization or cancer research.

You can see some clips and learn about chinchillas in the video link. I made this for my class, but maybe you can fall in love with my pets as much as I did.
