Most of us don't know this story about our dear friend Belinda because she has been private about it and didn't want to burden her friends and dealt with it on her own but, this time Belinda needs our help...... Let me share with you some of her story:
During Early Spring in 2010 she was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and was given Nuclear Radiation. It resulted in her having to be quarantined and alone for 5 days straight in the hospital with no contact with her 2 boys; covered in plastic to prevent any of the radiation from spreading. When she was released she still needed to be confined in a small space away from her boys for another 28 days. Along with the radiation treatment the tests were physically exhausting and left her with no energy and her heart barely pumping.
In 2011 the cancer marker showed that it was back but, was given a different treatment to increase her thyroid hormone level to prevent the cells from attaching to anything in her body. It worked however, without awful side affects of panic and anxiety attacks because she was hyper thyroid at that time.
By 2015, she was in remission but, last February during her annual marker testing the cancer had returned . This treatment choice isn't as easy as the last due to repeating nuclear radiation at a higher level, which results in a secondary cancer, Leukemia. So, Belinda has opted out of that type of treatment and chose a medication treatment which is a form of chemo.
This is where Belinda needs our help. With only being able to afford some of the out of pocket costs for these treatments she is still needing more to ablate the cancer cells. These treatments need to be completed as soon as possible. And for over a year she has been unable to land a job because of her medical issues. In late July she will undergo surgery and with treatment completed, she is hoping to have a fresh start.
Belinda has been putting on a brave face but, our friend needs our help during this trying time. I want to send you all my thanks in advance for your generosity and love for her.
