Help the Hodges!

On March 10th, Geoffrey was hit by a driver who ran a red light, while he was biking to work. His injuries include multiple fractures to his right tibia and ankle, repaired by inserting a metal tube between the bone fragments and hoping they rejoin. The other lower leg bone is broken as well, but deemed not repairable with vascular damage to the right leg and ankle -  limiting blood flow,  and a shattered left knee cap  that has been partially reconstructed. The attending Police and EMT's said his motorcycle helmet saved his life.

After weeks in hospital, he is finally home. 

Geoffrey’s legs need to be immobilized. He cannot put weight on the right leg for months and cannot bend the left leg making him and his wheelchair too long for most wheelchair- accessible vehicles.

The good news is that Geoffrey is recovering and is in good spirits. He is now at home with his Mom and Dad who are taking good care of him.

Unfortunately this means many unexpected medical costs as well as lowered income for the family. 

 Geoffrey is 27 years old and had a job at a movie theatre downtown while he was completing his training to work in the film industry. He cannot work and both his parents are not able to work as much, while they provide care.  His mom Irene cannot run her childcare business from home as it’s been converted into Geoffrey’s hospital room.
