Love & Support for Maryna

Donation protected
Maryna is the 13 year old daughter to one of my dearest and closest childhood friends Nina Steiner (Pugh) who I am still very close with to this day.  I have started this page to help Nina and Maryna and assist them with any and all needs that they have currently and will have in the days to come.
Just a few weeks ago on December 19, 2015 Maryna wasn't feeling well.  She was nauseated and was vomiting, her vision became blurred and then doubled and Nina found that Maryna's pupils were very dilated.  Thinking that she probably just had a virus that was going around but playing on the safe side Nina took Maryna to the ER that night and they did a CT Scan of her head due to her symptoms.  When the results came back they told her that they saw a spot on the CT Head that they were concerned about and that she would need to follow up with a neurologist for what at the time they believed to possibly be a cyst on her pineal gland.
Nina took Maryna to her primary care doctor that next week and she was then referred to a neurologist up at Akron Children's Hospital who she saw shortly after.  The neurologist saw the CT Scan that was done in the ER and stated they did not believe that it was a cyst and that they thought she had a tumor however they needed to have an MRI done to see a more in depth look at what was going on.  They scheduled the MRI and made a follow up appointment which wasn't supposed to be until January 20, 2016.
This past Monday on January 4, 2016 Maryna went up to Akron Children's Hospital and had the MRI done, she did awesome and was able to have it done without sedation after talking to some of the nurses and she did great at laying still and enduring the long test.  They were told when leaving the ordering doctor would receive the results and would go over them at their next appointment which they were thinking was in a few weeks.  That evening Nina got the call from the doctor that the MRI showed an aggressive, fast acting tumor and was what he called "worst case scenerio".  He stated that he had consulted oncology and that he needed Maryna and Nina to come back up in the morning for a follow up test and some more scans.  It was during this appointment that they were told that Maryna has an inoperable brain tumor and that her diagnosis is terminal.  She is scheduled for a biopsy of the tumor and that is being done tomorrow at Akron Children's Hospital and then she is staying overnight there for observation.  Once those results are in then they will discuss with oncology the best route for treating symptoms and prolonging life.
We are all praying that when she goes in to that surgery tomorrow that the results that the doctors think they are going to find will not be correct and that God will heal Maryna of what ever it is that she has going on.  Maryna is such a bright, beautiful girl who is so full of life and spunk and love.  She is an amazing big sister and an amazing little sister and a mother's dream come true!!
I have known this family for almost my entire life and they are all so wonderful, a Godly family who is praying to the God they love that this is all a big mistake.  I ask those of you who know this family and love them as I do that if you can help them with a monetary donation then you can donate here (I will personally ensure that all money donated here to this site goes directly to Nina and Maryna) and if you cannot then please keep them all in your prayers!! I will keep everyone updated with new results as we find them out!! Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this and for praying for this family!!!
