Cancer is always a burden no matter the person but why does it always seem to latch on to the people you would never expect. Kathy Smith is a 57 year old wife and mother. She is active in the LDS church and has been a positive influence to everyone she meets. She has spent countless hours serving the LDS church and her community. In September of 2011 Kathy was diagnosed with bone cancer. This as many know it's a tough financial burden and even more so for the Smith family as Kathy is the primary income provider. Kathy has had to miss months and months of work throughout the course of her treatment during the last two years completing two rounds of bone marrow transplants and ongoing chemotherapy. Unfortunately despite her continued illness and negative reactions to treatment Kathy has had to continue working in order to maintain her insurance. Although Kathy's form of cancer is terminal she continues to fight and stay strong. She hopes to be with is long enough to see her son Joshua marry his fiancé Whittney in a few months and would love to celebrate the birth of her first grandchild when that time comes. Kathy has done so much to help other during these time of financial stresses and would never ask for anything in return. Although we know the Heavenly Father has a plan in store for Kathy and she has received many blessings in her life we are hopeful that he may bless is with a miracle. We would like to raise money to help Kathy with some of the financial burden her family has had to endure during the last few years. Please contribute if you are able and know that any amount will help and will be greatly appreciated.
