Lucy's Cancer Treatment

Hi, My name is Megan. My dog, Lucy, was diagnosed with an MLO (Multilobular osteochondrosarcoma) tumor on her skull 3/24/22. She needs radiation and possibly chemotherapy to treat it.

 

I found Lucy on the side of the road when she was 12 weeks old. Since then, she has been my ride or die, and the most important thing in my life. She has gone everywhere with me. She's probably visited more States than some humans. I was in an abusive marriage for 8 years. She was by my side through it all. I have been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, depression, PTSD, and suicidal idealization. Lucy is quite literally the reason I'm still alive. I want nothing more than to be able to save her life like she has saved mine. I realize dogs don't live forever, but 11 years is not enough. I'm hoping to give her a little more quality time. There will be no major side effects from the radiation. Her tumor is slow-growing, so once we shrink it with radiation it could take years to grow back to the size it is now.

 

I went through a very contentious divorce from my ex husband, and consequentially have absolutely no savings. I do have CareCredit, but I don't have a six-figure job, so my limit is only $500. Lucy's treatment will be around $7,995. I'm asking a little more because GoFundMe takes a fee per donation. We have already spent around $3,000 out of pocket on her MRI and CT, and I'm completely out of credit as well other than the $500 on CareCredit.

 

We also have 3 other dogs. Two of them have special needs, so we have to continue the same level of care throughout all of this. I'm not someone who likes to ask for help. I'm typically the one helping rescues, or adopting the dogs no one else wants, but I'll do anything for Lucy.
