now I am a paramedic in Manchester, NH and work for a local ambulance company. On 10/31/14 I was assaulted in an attempted robbery. I succumed to multiple injuries including a deep tissue laceration, a broken nose and possible right orbit, and a fractured hand (attempting to defend myself). I am unable to work for the duration of my recovery and have no vacation/sick time or in our world we call it PTO (paid-time off). I as any of my associates work hard and long hours just to pay the bills. The inability to pay my bills and the ever amounting medical bills is financially crushing me.
I hate to do this. I feel like by posting this, I am no better than the bums on the corner with a cardboard sign. I figure though if any small amount that people have extra that could help me, I would be able to relieve some of the burden that has fallen on me do to being the wrong place at the wrong time.
