Hey everyone, some of you might have seen and heard about the devastating Typhoon Ulysses that hit the Philippines on Thursday last week. Many of the people affected come from already vulnerable communities and have been left with nothing. Their homes have either been submerged under the flood or have been washed away completely. Thousands of families are now displaced and do not have even basic needs - all while dealing with COVID19. Four more typhoons are anticipated to hit Philippines by year-end.

What’s happened hits so close to home and deeply moved my sister and I to help out in any way we’re able. We were reluctant to donate through big organisations or other advertised groups in mainstream media, as we wanted to see our contributions in action helping those most in need.

By God’s grace, our cousin Jaba who lives in Manila is closely coordinating with community volunteers in Ilagan, Isabela and Cagayan whom she personally knows. These are small local groups who use donated funds to organise supplies such as food, water, banig (blankets/rugs), pillows and sanitary items to directly distribute to those who have been left with nothing.

We’ve created this fundraiser to reach out to our family and friends who may also want to share a donation. Any amount will go such a long way. There are photos below of the affected areas in Ilagan and Cagayan where the outreach is being directed to.

Thank you all so much for your kindness and compassion.
