heart fund

There I was, at work on Friday night. I felt fine and all was going well. Then without any signs or symptoms, I dropped dead. My heart suddenly stopped beating. Thank goodness I was at work with people watching. Chest compressions were started and 911 was called, and EMT's eventually took over. I had no pulse for about 10 minutes. They finally got me stabilized and took me to St. Mary's . They did plenty of tests and even induced hypothermia to save my brain function. My family had all come to say goodbye. Then a wonderful thing happened on Sunday, I finally came around. I started to "wake up" and realize where I was and what had happened. On Thursday, I was transferred to St. Francis for a cardiac MRI. They disvovered that I have a heart diseade called ARVC. Upon seeing this, they immediately prepped me for surgery and implanted a defibrillator to monitor my heart, and shock me if it stops again. I am doing well now and thankful for what many nurses  and doctors referred to as a miracle. After 6 nights in the hospital, a couple ambulance rides, and heart surgery, I have incurred some large medical bills. I have no insurance and will have to go see a cardiologist regularly now. The bills are rolling in... So far, a couple hundred thousand.  The bills are stressful, but I am glad to be alive.
