I first came across injustice in a significant way while in Kenya. Perhaps you can remember when you have seen something terrible, and, if you are much like me, you probably felt helpless to change what you saw.

I was standing on the roof of a school with a local pastor who was telling me about the people of Mathare Valley slum. He described how many of the young girls there had to sell their bodies in order to pay the violent and illegitimate slumlord and keep their homes. There was nothing I could do to change any of it.

Now I have a chance to be a part of the change! Being given an opportunity to work with International Justice Mission means I can be more than just a witness to these horrible things.

International Justice Mission believes that justice is possible for the poor. They are a global organization that protects the poor from oppression. They work all over the world to help rescue millions of people from sex trafficking, slavery, police brutality, and more.
