"I, along with my peers, have begun to apply our Open Dialogue Training, Maastricht Interview Training for Voice Hearers, Intentional Peer Support Training , and other trainings, to support families and individuals in their healing process through trauma! I believe a growing network of healers are arising and our numbers will continue to expand and emerge into the community."

Yet, as a “midwife,"  as I listen to the stories and support the healing in the work I do now, I am finding that so many share a specific  trauma that is multi-layered and very deep....sexual trauma. Adding training specifically for "sexual trauma healing", feels necessary and so important and empowering, in addition to the training I have... to do the work... I am called to do!"

Hello Friends,

This is  Cindi Fisher,

I am asking for your support! I need an additional $3000  to attend a very empowering healing sexual trauma training to expand my ability to support the healing and emergence  of  those I/we serve!

And due to some physical, personal, and family challenges, I am also, one month behind on my rent and utilities, which is $2,000.  Washington State's moratorium against rent evictions ends Thursday, December 31, 2020! Thus, including the fees that Go Fund Me deducts, I am asking for your support of $5,150.

Inscribed on the photo of my son are the words   "Siddharta, Beloved of His Soul!"

If you are reading this and do not know our story, you can read this article   a Canadian journalist wrote in 2014, about  the path Siddharta  and I have walked,  at the intersection of disability and racial oppression. (if the link does not work just go to Regroundinglove dot com)

It will leave you shocked, outraged, and heartbroken! The aftermath and other harms continue to negatively impact him today.

Late in the middle of  the night, not too long ago, I, too,  felt so powerless and scared. All my efforts seemed to have failed  again to surround and protect Siddharta,  as justice and "healing"  evaded him and the system swallowed him up again.

In the midst of my  fearful confusion these words came to me:

Siddharta,  is the Beloved of His Soul

...as I began to feel into what those words meant, a calm and peace began to release the terror and sorrow that was gripping me...and the picture  is the image I later created to capture the feeling those words gave me.

These words are now my mantra, when my own, and other's efforts are not enough. A large laminated poster of this image takes center place on a wall in my bedroom, even as I continue to renew my efforts for justice and healing for him, and justice, healing and empowerment for myself, my community, and the world.

The few community supports that are truly empowering and healing are slowly forming and beginning to emerge, but the reality is, we/there are not many yet, and still too many like my son, slip through the cracks and are returned to institutions, where harm rather than healing seems to be the price they pay.

And yet, I still have great  hope!

Why ?

I, along with my peers, have begun to apply our Open Dialogue Training, Maastricht Interview Training for Voice Hearers, Intentional Peer Support Training , and other trainings, to support families and individuals in their healing process through trauma! I believe a growing network of healers are arising and our numbers will continue to expand and emerge into the community. There IS Light at the end of the tunnel-in the center of the community!

It has been a privilege, and an amazing, inspiring, and heartwarming experience, to witness  the resilience of the Human Spirit at work!... Exposing,  peeling away the layers of trauma; throwing off the mistaken identities,  limitations of shame, blame and expectations; breaking down or breaking through  diagnosis of mental illness; and then experiencing the sacred honor of witnessing with them, the emergence of their buried strengths, gifts and talents…… theirs and quite surprisingly, mine as well!

This work we do...my peer-colleagues and I, and those we serve; we are doing it  together and are growing together. It is this witnessing, and midwifing others and our own growth that has lit a greater fire of hope in my heart, despite my son’s return into the system.

I am called to do!

I, too, experienced sexual trauma as a child, as did my son, as a young adult.
My son has not yet experienced healing from it, but, I have, and I know how freeing and empowering breaking free from sexual trauma can be!!!

I have registered and reserved a spot, for level 1 training in a healing sexual trauma 7 day workshop. It is now fully booked with a waiting list. I am so grateful I took a leap of faith quite a while ago to reserve my place!

I am asking for your support! I need an additional $3000  to attend this empowering  training to expand my ability to support the healing and emergence  of  those I/we serve!

This work is truly a calling for me, and I walk in gratitude:
for your support in words of encouragement...
for your support in prayers...
for  your support in all sizes of financial gifts from the heart...
and for your support by doing the work YOU are called to do!

Thank you for sharing this far and wide!

With Love,
Cindi
