!GWAK is a non-profit arts collective focused on encouraging collaborations between members of our growing international community and sharing the work that they create. All donations will be fed right back into supporting our community by funding events, exhibitions, and paying our overheads. We also hope in the future to host competitions with prizes and enable our members to pitch for small grants to support their projects.
Our needs are ongoing, and we've never asked for donations before (over the past 3 years) so if you have read our online magazine, heard our podcast, benefitted from our network, been to an event, or enjoyed any of our other content we'd really appreciate your support. We are especially proud of what we provide for free and want to keep everything accessible moving forward, but we rely on donations to do so. Even £1 would make a difference and enable us to keep running, especially as Coronavirus has destroyed many opportunities to host events, which are our biggest source of income.
!GWAK is run by a dedicated team of volunteer staff who we can't currently afford to pay. In return for their work, we offer them invaluable experience, opportunities to boost their own creative work, and other perks. The staff team is incredibly passionate about our work and with more financial support, we would be able to support them better too. Eventually, we want to be paying them for their input.
Currently, !GWAK is in a transition phase as we take on new management and make some big improvements to the community, our main goals are to: provide more support for our members, diversify the community, do more events online and in-person & really nurture the collaborative element of our community.
