A new start

I never thought I would have to start one of these accounts but here I am, with humility. Awaiting graduation in just a few short weeks, tragedy struck what was supposed to be one of the proudest moments of my life. On March 28th at 11:30 pm the disaster began with very hysterical screaming from one of my neighbors in my apartment complex. Not sure what was going on, I went downstairs to see what the problem was. As I opened my front door, I felt flames and scorching heat hit my face. At this moment, I had nothing on my mind but to save my dog that was still sitting upstairs. I called her to me and as fast as we can, we got ourselves out of the apartment and ran across the street, away from the building that was rapidly going up in flames. I sat across the street with nothing but the clothes on my back and my dog and watched the fire take on one apartment at a time until I got to mine. My heart sank. I've been living in the United States for the last 5 years and everything I owned; clothes, school supplies, electronics, personal items were being destroyed in front of my eyes. At the end of the day, all I can say is BUT GOD. I am alive to speak of this and thank Him for delivering me out safely. At this moment, I'm interested in getting clothes/shoes and my laptop back to continue with my studies to graduate. Anything, small or big will most definitely be appreciated and used to get me back on my feet. God bless.
