Hello Everyone,
I want to bring to light a situation that someone very dear to me is going through. My friend Kim is a kind and generous person who will always be one of the first to respond to give aid for others. Today I need to ask you to help her.
Kim has been through many hardships in life and is a very private humble woman. Kim is a single mother. Three years ago her son became wheelchair bound (paraplegic). He lives with Kim and she is his primary care giver, she also takes him to his therapy & medical appointments. In 2020, Kim’s job was phased out, leaving her to rely on unemployment benefits. She then required knee replacement surgery which did not allow her to continue her job search for a period of time. All of these complications put her into a situation where she is facing eviction. Kim has paid as much as she could afford but the landlord brought her before the courts and if the arrears are not paid before the end of February she and her son will be homeless.
If all of this wasn’t overwhelming enough, Kim’s engine blew in her 2013 car, now leaving her without transportation. And she still has to make payments on the car! Kim’s entire career has been working in sales and it will be almost impossible for her to find a job that doesn’t require a vehicle.
Kim has been actively & continuously looking for work, but with the complications of covid, no longer having her own transportation, and still recovering from knee surgery, you can imagine how hard it has been to find anything at all.
I suggested that Kim start a Go Fund Me, but she felt she could not ask for help, so I am asking for her.
Please - no amount is too small! I am trying to raise the balance of the rent arrears ($3,600) as well as the cost to fix her car or to purchase a second hand car ($3,400), for a total of $7,000.
Kim is a volunteer with Rising Angels and has sat on the board for many years. She has always been here for me and for so many others. She is such a strong woman and in this moment she needs a hand up to help her back on her feet. Please help me help her!
