We are the Golden Valley High School World Guard and we compete at the highest division a high school color guard team can compete in-- Scholastic World.
We are a dedicated and hard working group of students from Bakersfield, CA. We work toward perfecting our skill every single day to grow as performers and individuals. We are ranked the #1 color guard team in Kern County and #2 in all of California!
Unfortunately last year, we were not able to raise enough funds to attend WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH. Three-quarters of our students come from low income households and although we fundraise year-round, we were not able to meet the total amount necessary to purchase flights and hotels for the big trip.
However, we are not giving up on this dream! GVHS has not attended World Championships since our director was on the team in 2009. We are ready for the challenge and you can help us get there in 2020.
