help with the bills

I am a 60 year old married man who is self employed as a handyman. In 2016 I lost my voice due to throat cancer. I got real lucky and after 2 months of radiation everyday, the cancer was killed and my voice is slowly returning.
I lost work during that time due to the fact that I couldnt talk to people and because I had to make my treatment appointments. I tried working again after treatment and found out about the side effects of radiation. I had 1\2 the energy that I had before which slowed down my workload.
I continued to work when i find work, even hiring some help when i need it and have been staying just a head of homelessness. With the help of friends, I have been able to park my motor home on peoples property for some rent and for helping around thier homes.
I proceeded to sign up for S.S.I and was denied help due to the fact that I didn't put enough money into the system. I was then contacted by a lawyer who said they would take my case and got me a appeals hearing. I excepted thier help and waited for the coart date, which was around 18 months away. When the time finally came, my lawyer dropped my case because I stopped going to doctors appointments. I felt it was wasting tax dollars paying for visits that wasn't needed.
I finally gave up on the system giving me any help. I asked for help from the system that is there to help and I asked for help from the lawyers and got shut down because I am nobody. I may not have paid enough money into the system, but I am a citizen and a human being, therefore I am a somebody and everyone deserves help now and then. I paid into the system when I could, but when I couldn't, I didnt ask for help. I never collected money or food stamps because I was still able to make ends meet. I am a vet and can play on that like a lot of them do but thats not me. I did serve  my time as a combat engineer in the army, but I never seen combat. I am  still a vet because i served enough time in military service and a Honorable Discharge.
On 11-17-19 I checked into the hospital with constipation and soon found out that it was colon cancer and had to do surgery. They gutted me open and cut out the cancer along with some of my intestines and stapled me back together. the first time I caught cancer, I didnt get full effect of how deadly it can be. Sure I lost some energy, but they didnt have to cut into me like this time. I was released from the hospital a couple days ago and have found out exactly how bad it is. I cant do anything without becoming super weak, which is understandable, but really comes at a bad time.[not that there is a good time] They are talking about a miminum of 6 months, if lucky, before they can replace the intestines and take me off the bags they got me using.
I did alot of work for a friend who recently bought me a 89 ford truck as a bonus for all the help ive given him. Last month i picked up a nice job which i bought a car for my wife who also has cancer. I was going to get both vehicles registered when everything went bad. I have 2 cars that will be useless in a few days due to registration and will not be able to make any of the needed doctor visits unless I get help.
Last time I needed help I tried our system and asked for help and was denied but I survived. This time I know they wont help and I will soon lose everything. I have always been a proud man and dont like asking for help, but not a stupid one. I realize that if I cant ask for help from the people like you, from people that I dont even know, then maybe I shouldnt fight so hard to stay around. I still believe that there are good people like me out there that still help people.I am from the old school, I still hold doors     open for women, help the old and sick, and try to stand up for the weak. I dont lie[to the most part], I dont steal, and I try to treat everyone fairly.
Life has just thrown me for a big loop which has left me here asking for your help. I need to ask for help to get enough money together to get my vehicles tagged and a little to help with the bills to get through the winter. As it stands, i will need about $8200 to make it untill i get back on my feet
