Kidney Transplant Fund

In January of 2000 I was officially diagnosed with the kidney disease FSGS which in short is a scarring of the filtering part of my kidney.  I originally found out at age 21 I was born with only one kidney and it took doctors six years to finally make the diagnosis.  Since then my kidney function has slowly deteriorated in function to its current stage of only 13% function.  I recently have been put on the list for kidney transplant which will be a necessary thing to prolong my life.  After talking with my doctors at the Mayo Clinic and the financial team we have come to the figure of about $6,000 is what I will need for living expenses during the five to six week recovery time.  Unfortunately during this time I will not be able to work and it will limit my income and put an enormous strain on me financially.  I have so many wonderful friends who have asked me how they can help and shy of donating a kidney this is how you can.
