Guzman Family PR Hurricane Relief

My name is Jazmin from New Jersey and I am writing this as a plea for my family in Puerto Rico.
As you know, Hurricane Maria went through Puerto Rico and left the island in complete devastation. The island went black as it went completely out of power. Clean water and basic food are no longer things that are easy to find. We have been able to get in contact, briefly, with only one relative (our cousin Dana) to ensure us that she is still alive. Yet her home is no longer accessible as the land all around it gave way during a landslide. We were also informed that another relative which had a wooden home has also been destroyed. And another home has been flooded . My family doesn’t have the means to provide the things that will be needed to fix and rebuild the homes and replace items that have been destroyed. We still don’t know the status of our other relatives and have been desperately trying to reach out to them in hopes that they are okay.
My family is asking for any donation, big or small, to aide in the relief of Hurricane Maria. This isn’t just a project for one home but three homes and an entire family that will need it. These are the same relatives that helped my grandmother when she struggled to find food for the six children she had to raise on her own after escaping from a dangerous situation. This is the same family that welcomes and embraces us. The same family that loves unconditionally and opened up their homes and hearts to us. And now that home is gone. The funds will be used to repair and replace the homes and belongings that have been lost in the flooding and disaster.
We are also collecting clothing, nonperishable items, toiletries, bedding, feminine products, etc to send to not only our family but to any family in Puerto Rico that may need it.
If you have any of these items please contact myself in southern New Jersey or my sister Jennifer, in northern New Jersey and we will drive to you to retrieve the items!
We we send our love to our family and friends on the island and make a promise to help as much as we can.
We will be sending these donations directly to our cousins in Puerto Rico, Aurea Guzman, Damarys Colon and Enid Gloria-Torres.
