Kelly Miller’s Cancer Battle

Donation protected

If you know my Aunt Kelly, you know two things:
1. She has a heart of gold
2. She’s a fighter

Growing up, I wanted nothing more than to be just like my Aunt Kel (she was the coolest person I knew)! Now as an adult, I still want to be just like her but for different reasons. She’s still the coolest, but her fighting spirit, love for family and friends, and the will to live inspire me.

In 1998 she was diagnosed with ovarian           cancer and had a FIVE POUND tumor removed. This, along with a previous ectopic pregnancy (that almost killed her) left her unable to safely carry her own child. A heavy burden for most women, especially women like my Aunt who has so much love to give. Insert her fighting spirit- she beats cancer and goes on to foster countless children and adopts two children. She sprinkled love on all those children like it was glitter.

Fast forward to December 2017. A doctor visit for cold/bronchitis symptoms reveals she has the C word once again. Small Cell lung cancer in the right lung. With her natural fighting spirit, she begins chemotherapy to once again show cancer who is boss. Unfortunately, cancer is relentless and doesn’t give up easily. In early 2018 Kelly was diagnosed with Neo-endocrine cancer in the left lung. These two different kinds of cancer require two different types of treatment. I’m sure you can assume how difficult treating one type of cancer is, let alone two types.  And cancer wasn’t finished yet. In 2019 a lesion was found on the left side of her brain and in January 2020 another lesion was found on the right side of her brain. She underwent a Gamma Knife procedure in 2019 to remove the 1st lesion and again last week to remove the most recent lesion. Throughout this entire time she has been receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy in the hopes of kicking cancer’s ass.

Her most recent scan showed  the cancer in her lungs is holding steady. No shrinkage, but more importantly no growth. Kelly continues to fight for her life but she needs our help. As we all know medication isn’t cheap and insurance doesn’t cover most of it.

Kelly and Todd are proud people and rarely ask for help. I want to help remove some financial stress and let them focus on more important things. Please help me rally around them, donate if you can, and lift them up in prayer.

Thank you and God Bless ♥️
