<div>Help James and Linda Guthrie Rebuild After a Devastating Year
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In 2025, life dealt James and Linda Guthrie a series of crushing blows. This beloved couple, known for their warmth, generosity, and unwavering service to others, faced challenges that have left them financially and physically overwhelmed. As their friend, I’m reaching out—not just to their inner circle, but to anyone moved by their story—to help turn their trajectory around in 2026. Your support, no matter how small, can be a beacon of hope for two people who have spent their lives lifting others up.

<div>A Year of Heartbreak and Struggle
</div>
<div>James, a dedicated Interim Rector at his church, suffered multiple falls in late 2024 and early 2025. What began as cane-assisted mobility spiraled into a wheelchair, then homebound isolation, and finally, being bedbound.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Linda, his devoted wife, took early retirement to care for him full-time, only to discover her insurance coverage had unexpectedly lapsed. Scrambling for new insurance, they were guided by faith to a solution, though it has been through one overwhelming challenge on top of another.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In June, James spent 44 days at the Acute Rehab Unit in Green Cove Springs, Florida, making remarkable progress but still unable to walk independently. Therapy and interventions continue, as does their fight to adapt to this new reality.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Their church community has been a lifeline, continuing to pay James a portion of his salary as he works remotely despite his condition. However, Linda’s retirement income is just a quarter of her previous salary, and their savings—including retirement accounts—have been depleted to survive this year. Now, they’ve humbly allowed me to create this campaign so we can pour back into them.

<div>Who Are James and Linda?
</div>
<div>If you know James and Linda, you’ve likely felt their love firsthand. They’ve opened their hearts to countless people, offering care, guidance, and support through their many gifts. They've poured themselves into many churches, traveling to support multiple dioceses as they formed. Their hearts beat for end-of-life care, children with special needs, and good-old southern hospitality. James’s sermons and leadership have inspired faith, while Linda’s kindness has comforted so many. They’re not used to asking for help—it’s always been their joy to give. That’s why I’m stepping in to rally a community around them, to show them they’re not alone in this fight.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’re a stranger to their story, know this: your kindness can ripple far beyond what you imagine. A donation, a share, or even a kind word can remind James and Linda that hope and humanity still shine bright, even in their darkest moments.

Beyond donating, please share this campaign on social media, with your networks, or in community groups. The more eyes on their story, the greater the chance we can surpass our goal and give them breathing room to heal and rebuild.

<div>A Final Note of Thanks
</div>
<div>On behalf of James and Linda, thank you for taking the time to read their story. Your generosity—whether through a gift or a share—means the world to a couple who’ve given so much of themselves. Let’s show them that compassion knows no bounds.
</div>

</div>
<div>*A note about stem cell therapy
</div>
<div>Part of the $15,000 for medical expenses is dedicated to a promising, cutting-edge stem cell therapy for James. As outlined in recent medical research, this regenerative treatment focuses on healing the source of James's debilitating pain: degenerative disc disease. Studies show that implanting specialized stem cells has the potential to restore damaged spinal discs, reduce inflammation, and improve hydration, offering a chance at true healing rather than just managing symptoms. Because this therapy is still considered innovative and not yet a standard procedure, it is not covered by insurance. This means the full cost falls on the family, but we believe this investment in James's long-term health and mobility is a critical step toward giving him his life back.
