Gut Check Comp Fundraiser

Hi everyone!!! We are trying to raise funds to help save on cost to host the "Gut Check" CrossFit Competition Fundraiser that will benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation (CCF) . My name is Shad Lorenz and with Beth Piantone we own CrossFit Germantown Performance in Germantown, MD. One of our members, Angie McLucas and her boyfriend Derek Smith to host a fundraiser for CCF. We said "yes, of course" thinking we would put together a little event and help raise a little bit money for the non-profit.
So we started planning and we are overwhelmed with what people with this silent disease deal with on a daily basis. We really had no clue as to how devistating this can be from just daily life changes we take for granted, to now you have lost your ability to have children. Well, that is the case for Angie....Thankfully she was able to adopt her son and is still living the dream of being a mother, but getting to this point has been a life full of struggles that most cannot even imagine. Angie is a strong person and we have learned that is what so many with Crohn's, Colitis or IBD have to become just to live life. With that we decided to make this as big as possibe and raise as much as we can. But of course this costs money. We know there are many out there that want to help and are not able to volunteer or compete in this competition, so here's how you can help. If our families and friends donated $20 or more, we could have enough to help cover expenses (equipment, venue, prizes for competitors, etc...) so that way all the money from people competing and other sponsors can go straight to CCF. All money raised will go there anyways and when finished, anything leftover is going to be donated as well.
This will mean a great deal to so many people that suffer with this silent disease in private. Many of us have no clue that someone may have these issues. Please help us raise awareness for CCF and all the good they do to help.
