Gustav the Stoma was born on January 9, 2013 to Jeremy Sawyer. Although this was the best decision for Jeremy and his progressing and debilitating Ulcerative Colitis, our family is now struggling with the medical bills.

Our Timeline:
July 2009 "“ Jeremy is diagnosed with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis.
July 2009-January 2013 "“ over 15 medications tried and failed.
June 2010 "“ Jude is born!
September 2010 "“ Jeremy has his first hospitalization due to a horrible UC flair
September 2010 "“ Begins using Remicaid and Prednisone "“ never comes off of prednisone until after his surgery.
April 2011 "“ Hospitalized again "“ UC Flair
April 2011 "“ Off of Remicaid "“ starts Humira. Still on Prednisone.
October 2012 "“ Teagan is born!!
November 2012 "“ Censie has gallbladder surgery
December 2012 "“ Jeremy has 2 one week stays in the hospital due to UC flairs
January 9, 2013 "“ Gustav the stoma is born!
January 21, 2013 "“ Jeremy finally gets released from the hospital!!
March 4, 2013 "“ Jeremy goes back to work!! Hooray!!
March 18, 2013"“ Jeremy get admitted to the hospital yet again "“ this time for an infection.
March 20, 2013 - Surgery to clean rectum wound due to severe infection. Found out that the wound was not healing properly and was causing an absese.
March 22, 2013 - HOME from hospital!!
Present: Still on daily packing at Kaiser. Equals $200-250 a week in co-pays!! Our medical debt increases daily!!
May 2013 - July 1st 2013 - Jeremy is told he is HEALED! No more daily packings!!
July 6th - Absese has formed. Needed another Surgery to deep clean the wound.
Present - Jeremy is going to work every day and going to the doctor every day as well. Still on daily packings. He will need another surgery to finally heal this 6 inch deep wound. A muscle flap surgery from his thighs will hopefully do the trick.
Due to the daily packings he is paying a copay daily still. Between 200-250 dollars a week in medical costs. Surgery is not schedule yet but we hope to have it done before the end of 2013

Jeremy is now living with an ileostomy due to him no longer having a colon or large intestine, he will have this forever.

We are not a family that asks for help much so this is extremely hard to do but here we are. Asking for a little dent to be made in this total. If money isn't an option we ask for your prayers as we re-evaluate what our priorities are in order to get these bills paid!

Thank you for your support and continued prayers!!

Jeremy, Censie, Jude, Teagan and GUSTAV the Stoma.
