Gus da Goose Cancer Fund

Donation protected

Gus is an adorable 8 year old Golden Retriever rescued at a very young age.  He became a registered therapy dog in 2013 with Therapy Animals of Utah.  He and his owners often visit mentally ill teenagers in a locked down unit of a local facility and also visits severely mentally ill geriatric patients at the same facility.
Unfortunately,  Gus was recently diagnosed with lymphoma in September.  It was discovered after he suffered a seizure believed to be unrelated.  Since his diagnosis, he has successfully managed almost one full course of chemotherapy treatments and his family has been fortunate enough to receive a grant from his therapy work that supported a substantial portion of the cost of this treatment.
As anyone dealing with cancer knows, crisis can be just around the corner and unfortunately early in his treatment, Gus suffered some setbacks that exhausted this family's finances.  Gus has insurance that has also covered much of his initial treatments, but this too will be exhausted.  Add this to the needs of special foods, office visits, special medications and supplements, and the financial hardships have become very real for this family.
Gus still has 18 treatments left as well as costs associated with a promising new vaccine which could help him live a normal life span and continue his amazing therapy work.  Gus and his therapy work have given hope to at least 1500 people and we think it's our turn to help Gus and his family through their time of need.
If you are not comfortable in giving through a GoFundMe page, please feel free to donate in Gus's name by calling Moutain View Animal Hospital in Sandy, Utah at [phone redacted] under Gus Kilgour.  Gus's family has given to so many different rescue organizations and donated to individuals who couldn't afford treatment for their pet.  They never thought they would be in the position to ask for financial help.  Gus and his family believe in karma and will be eternally grateful for any and all contributions.
Any funds not spent on treatment for Gus will be paid forward to another family facing large vet bills due to a life threatening illness.  Please find it in your heart to support Gus.  He isn't just another dog, he's a special pooch that has given so much love to others and now just needs a little help to get back on his feet again.
