Gurteen Taylor Schiavo transition support
My name is Malcolm Ian Cross and I am the son of Donald James Cross and Gurteen Taylor Schiavo aka Momma G.
My mom has been blessed with such an amazing life filled with such beauty. Even in this moment my mom radiates such beauty and light. Her compassion, generosity, humor and wisdom will be missed by all those blessed to experience it. Four weeks ago mom started to loose her appetite and desire to take in fluids. her stability was off as well and she had a couple falls. No injuries from them but just enough to alert us that her disease, Alzheimers, had taken a turn for the worse. We took her to the hospital. Honestly one of the hardest choices I’ve made to this point due to our current covid situation. We thought she would have to be in there all by herself. By the grace of GOD we both were allowed to be with her. the hospital staff gave her fluids intravenously. also she had been speaking of intense pains in her chest as well. upon receiving the X-ray results she showed signs of have multiple myelomas. A form of bone cancer which is degenerative and very painful. She is also showing signs of kidney failure. In full respect to her advance directive. and many conversations we’ve had with her up to this point about her living many years with this horrible disease. We are honoring her choice not treat the cancer and bring her home for hospice care for her final days. We are doing our best with the emotional weight of the situation. While taking on managing her care at home at this time. She has beautiful moments of lucidity. but mainly she spends the majority of her time with her eyes closed conversing with friends, family and angels. we are doing our best to keep her pain free and calm with medications and lots of love until she transitions. As the days go on and her breathing is becoming more laborious. This fundraiser will support Momma G during these final days of her transition, any extra support or care we bring in for her comfort, supplies and the completion of her request to be cremated and returned to the earth in Seattle next to her family. We extend an immense amount of gratitude to alll of the beautiful support by family and friends at this time. Holding this space with love, light, compassion and impeccability is only possible with all of your support and prayer. We have been surrounded by our guides, ancestors and many angels during this time. We are forever grateful. And know mom is feeling all of your love and support as she transitions back home.
