Gunshot Home Invasion/Robbery

Early Tuesday morning, I was awakened to a phone call no mother ever wants to get. A call from an ambulance; a call from my son saying he'd been shot. The words my son said to me that morning are still ringing in my head, as is the disbelief and shock.
Early Tuesday morning, my son Zachery was the victim of a home invasion and was shot in the chest, two inches away from his heart. After multiple emergency surgeries and a week in the ICU, he is finally being moved into recovery. As he pushes on through this traumatic event, the challenges he will face will not be over once he leaves the hospital. The consequences of this tragedy are far reaching, but through all of the tears, they have brought love closer to me and my family. Asking for help is hard, but I've had many people reach out with the desire to help which has made asking a little easier. I am overwhelmed by all the support we've received.
I've set up this GoFundMe for anyone who wishes to help with Zach's medical and home expenses. He will be off work while he recovers. Any help we receive is never expected, but always so appreciated more than words could ever express.
