Gumine Children Commmunity Project

Children’s Chapel: Planting seeds of hope.

In many remote communities in PNG, children and youth lack access to opportunities and support that help them reach their potential. Without positive guidance and opportunities, I have witnessed young people engaging in drugs, crimes and early marriage. Although I was raised in such a community, by God’s grace I was able to avoid these destructive behaviours.

The Children’s Chapel Project is an initiative that came from a desire to help children reach their God-given potential, look beyond their ‘mountains’, and avoid negative social practices. The seed was planted in 2012.

Since then, the generous support of donors, time and labour of local volunteers, and fundraising efforts in Australia and PNG has seen the seed grow in the form of a permanent building structure.

While the chapel’s structure is now complete, funds are still required to help complete the project.

Funds will help secure the finishing touches of the building by:

·   Helping ensure that the children have seats to sit on
·   Providing relevant resources to help their development and education, and
·   Ensuring the building is safe and child-friendly.

The new chapel will provide a safe and happy place where children can connect with God through songs and worship, and learn about a God who loves them and has plans for their future.

Any additional funds raised from the Children’s Chapel, will support the following two projects:

1. A Community Library
2. A Play School

If you would like to help see the Children’s Chapel project completed by Christmas, please make a donation through this GoFundraise page.

Your generosity of any amount will go a long way in helping these dreams become a reality, and making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people.

Thank you very much for you generosity!
