Gulf County Fl Sheriff Donation

Donation protected
The Smyrna Police Department is seeking your help for victims of Hurricane Michael. These victims are part of our blue line family and have been unable to tend to their own needs and family needs because they have been out on the streets making sure their citizens are safe and comfortable while they rebuild. We have reached out to several agencies and vendors for donations, only to find that they have already donated to Bay County and Panama City Florida. Our goal is to help Gulf County and their smaller, less well-known towns of Port St. Joe and Cape San Blas. These officers have put their homes on hold and have been working overtime to rebuild their county. Some have lost everything and don't even have clothing to go to work in, yet each day they lace up their wet boots, buckle their duty belt on, and kiss their spouse and children goodbye as they head out the door to unselfishly help friends, family, and strangers.

At this time, we have collected supplies for their homes; however we need some help with work equipment. Gulf County purchases their clothing supplies from a dealer, but it takes several weeks to receive. Additionally, their budget isn’t equipped to outfit the entire department at once with new clothing. They are also not able to rely on nearby larger towns (Panama City) as a resource due to the significant damage they received.

Life goes on for the rest of us, but the communities of Gulf County came to a sudden stop on October 10, 2018. As we watch elections, plan Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, let’s not forget that those impacted by Hurricane Michael are still struggling. It takes weeks/month to receive insurance money and to rebuild. Gulf County has recently lifted their nightly curfew, some homes still don’t have electricity because they are not safe enough yet, water has to be boiled for consumption, and life will take years to be like it was before.

Smyrna Police Department has the local resources available where we can purchase what they need and take it to them, but time is short. Due to the urgent need of this equipment, we plan to leave November 17th.  Please help us by donating money to purchase waterproof boots, BDUs, shirts, socks, and gear to help them while they are helping their community rebuild.

***100% of the money collected will be used to purchase supplies for Gulf County deputies.***

Please take the time to read some of the articles depicting the aftermath life after Hurricane Michael.
