Gulf Coast Mercies 'Un-Event'
Dr Theresa Burke was scheduled to fly in to Houston, TX on Thursday, September 7th to be the Keynote speaker for Gulf Coast Mercies 2nd annual Benefit Dinner. However, sadly Mother Nature had another plan. As the worlds knows Hurricane Harvey swept in and has caused major destruction throughout the Houston area. Sadly, the event had to be cancelled, leaving Gulf Coast Mercies with nothing to help their organization.
In times of tragedy it is not uncommon for previous losses to resurface. Many people begin to review their lives and pray for help when all has been stripped from them. With all the trauma occurring in Houston, lost lives, homes, and jobs, it is crucial that Rachel’s Vineyard retreats are available to help those flooded with complex grief and loss.
That is where you come in!! Dr Theresa Burke has decided to host an 'Un-Event' for them! We are hoping to raise all the money needed to help them recover from the Hurricane and to keep their organization afloat!

They are a Christ centered nonprofit ministry serving the Houston, TX area.
Their purpose is to offer exclusive counseling for post-abortive women, men and their loved ones. This resource grew as a result of their own experiences in post-abortive recovery and therapy.
They prepare a safe & gentle place to begin healing the trauma of abortion and miscarriage - one weekend at a time. Using the Rachel's Vineyard Retreat Program™ they have the ability to promote and encourage the necessary healing processes. They have formed a wonderful and caring team comprised of Clergy, Counselors and Laity working together to offer a response with the latest trauma theory integrated with an interfaith approach.
No matter what brought on the pregnancy loss, women and men are hurting after this life changing event. The founder of Gulf Coast Mercies, has personally been through such a loss, several times.
The trauma and grief created agony and suffering until she was fortunate enough to find help. Through the Grace of God, she was made aware of a place to go for healing. The Rachel's Vineyard Retreat Program™, was the format used where she experienced God's Mercy.
One unexpected outcome for those who have experienced the weekend retreat, is the healing effects that flow softly towards loved ones.
